Default Westech 950M needs software reloaded.

We have a 1995 Westech 950M gantry robot that had problems with running the program. It worked manually by the keyboard but only the vertical axis worked by the pendant. So I called Westech and they said that the software lost something. The book said to clear the main memory and reload from the e-prom, but it had no program in it. Now the software that was in it is gone and Westech doesn't have the notes, compiler program or information to reload the software. We have the 3.5" floppy with the program on it and we can read it by Notepad but we can't load it into the robot. Does anyone know what program and the connection parameters are needed to get a PC and the robot to talk again and get the program back in it so we can use it again? Can the program be hand loaded after manually changing the lables to line numbers? The program looks to be at least 2000-3000 lines long. Westech said they can upgrade the robot but it will cost upwords of $50,000 and with the economy the way it is it will be at least a year before we can think of that right now.

I have found the Westech compiler utility on the disk for the robot. When I run the utility and go to compile and transmit the robot program it closes the window in the utility and nothing shows up on the control. I have a laptop hooked through the serial port COM 1 to the robot control's rs232 connector.

I found a local technician that knew the Westech system and still had equipment to reload the software. The machine is running now.
