This was sent to me by a friend who writes for business-to-business media.
It's an excerpt from an email she got and, because I didn't hear the story myself, it's second hand and it might be one of those that are like Internet stories -- don't take them to be true unless you know for sure. However, my friend said it was sent to her by an editor at a trade magazine in Europe whom she trusts. She didn't tell me who the editor is nor his publication, buit I'm posting it as an item of interest and a warning: it's about a manufacturer in Italy (and no, I don't know who Mr. Moretto is): He bought 3-4 tonnes of steel from China, used it to make whatever his company makes, and found out later the steel was radioactive. Mr. Moretto as a result bought a Geiger counter to check all of his firm's incoming metals. Will the rest of the world ever learn that the Chinese can't be trusted!!?? That's the end of it. Anyone have any similar experiences or personal knowledge about them? |
